The 21st Polish Film Festival in America has drawn to an end. More than 70 Polish films, including animations, documentaries, and feature movies, have been shown in Chicago during the past two weeks.
On Sunday, November 22, the president of the Jury, Gordon Alez Quinn, announced the Jury's verdict. Jacek Bławut's Before Twilight / Jeszcze nie wieczór was awarded the "Golden Teeth 2009" for best movie, while Bartosz Konopka's Rabbit à la Berlin / Królik po berlińsku won the award for best documentary.

Awards:
- The Special Award of the Jury went to Generał Nil / General Nil directed by Ryszard Bugajski;
- The Special Award of the Jury for documentary film went to a film by Leszek Gnoiński and Wojciech Słota entitled Historia Rocka i polskiej wolności / The Beats of Freedom;
- Waldemar Krzystek's Mała Moskwa / Little Moscow received the city of Chicago Award for the film promoting the most universal values;
- Magiczne drzewo / The Magic Tree by Andrzej Maleszka received the Poltel Special Award;
- The film Handlarz cudów / Miracle Seller directed by Jarosław Szoda and Bolesław Pawica won the Chicago critics' Award.
