Dagadana Polish-Ukrainina trio hit number eight on British Top 20 Best World Music charts with their "Dlaczego nie" / "Why not" album

The TOP 20 Best World Music Albums of 2011 list was created after comparing all the world music albums published in 2011 submitted to the WorldMusic.co.uk site through to the end of January, 2012.

Dagadana are three musicians: Daga Gregorowicz, Dana Vynnytska and Mikołaj Pospieszalski. Their music on the "Dlaczego nie" record draws on a wide variety of inspirations, with folk as well as world music, jazz, poetry and classical music echoing throughout the pieces.

Albums for the TOP 20 list were selected with special attention to creativity, production, integrity and originality. Dagadana’s previous album, "Malenka" also received acclaim from the site’s critics, who recognised the band's distinct way of blending a variety of musical genres and inspirations into an accessible sound.

The release of "Dlaczego nie" and the album’s concert tour was made possible thanks to the cooperation with Wielkopolskie Voivodship Council, the European Stadium of Culture, and Narodowe Centrum Kultury (National Centre of Culture), with the media patronage of Culture.pl and Gazeta Co Jest Grane.
