The award for best original music went to Michael Giacchino for the soundtrack from the movie "Up". The film received another Golden Globe for the best animated feature film. The awards were presented at the grand gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Abel Korzeniowski, a Polish composer living in the US, was nominated for the original soundtrack from Tom Ford's "A Single Man", starring Julianne Moore and Collin Firth. The Film is a story that centers on an English professor who, after the sudden death of his partner tries to go about his typical day in Los Angeles.

Golden Globes are the the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual awards. Golden Globes are generally considered a fairly adequate prognosis before the Film Academy Awards, coming in March, 2010.
