In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Fall of Communism in Poland, Millennium Park welcomes a very special concert titled Freedom '89 - Born in Poland.
Freedom '89 is a uniquely multi-faceted program that combines music, dance and film to feature the music of Fryderyk Chopin arranged in exciting new classical, jazz and rock interpretations by numerous renowned musicians from Poland, among others Janusz Olejniczak and Leszek Możdżer. An awe-inspiring jumbo screen multimedia presentation accompanies the music and dance arrangements to combine an impressive collage of archival photos with historical footage tracing the demise of communism from Poland to Berlin plus footage of modern day Poland with their acceptance into the European Union. In addition to the attendance of former President of Poland and 1983 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Lech Walesa (who will address the audience), honored guests include prominent political leaders and dignitaries from both Poland and the United States. ABC7 Veteran Anchor / Reporter, Alan Krashesky, acts as MC. This free admission event is open to the public. More information about the concert: www.freedom89.org. Press information |
